You squealed as Gilbert told you he was on his way. Your awesome best friend of 5 years was coming over for your weekly movie night. It had started when you two were 11, a few months after you met Gilbert. Your parents had invited Gil's family over for New Years and you and him stayed up all night, watching movies. After that, it simply became tradition that every Friday night, the two of you would chose a movie to watch and hang out for a few hours. You smiled at the memory. Now here you were, 16, with the BIGGEST crush on your silver haired friend. Others thought he was obnoxious, mean, rude and a bully, but you saw the real Gilbert Beilschmidt. He was funny, bold, brave and very protective of you.

You heard the doorbell and ran to the door at light speed. But when you opened it, the red eyed German wasn't there. It was Arthur, one of your closest friends. "Hey Artie, what's up?" you asked, smiling at him. "I was wondering if you wanted to come to the mall with Alfred and I" he said, grinning at you. "Oh shoot, I'm sorry Arthur, I already have plans" you said, blushing and feeling a pang of guilt. He nodded. "You and Gilbert are watching a movie, right love?" he asked. Gulping, you nodded, not meeting his eyes. "Look, I have no problem with you having other plans, ______. But I don't like that Prussian. I have a feeling he's a player and he'll hurt you" said Arthur, sounding worried as he spoke. you looked up at him, smiling sadly. "Then I guess I'll get to that if it ever comes" you said with finality. He sighed, smiling at you. "Okay love, but I'm always here for you. And if he ever hurts you...there won't be anymore Gilberts at our school" he said dangerously. You giggled as you watched the Brit hop back into his car and drive away.

A lot of your friends were like Arthur, not trusting Gilbert and warning you against him, but you couldn't help it. He had stolen your heart and you wouldn't have it any other way. You got your pajamas on and started popping the popcorn when you heard the door open. "____! Zhe awesome me is here!" yelled a voice and your heart skipped a beat. Gilbert walked into the kitchen grinning like a child. He was wearing pajamas that said "Like a Boss" on them and a Green Day tee shirt. "I brought zhe candy" he said, smirking. You smiled. "Thanks Gil! So, what movie are we watching tonight?" you asked, both of you walking into the living room. "Uh, I don't know. Vhy don't you pick, frau?" he asked, looking at your extensive movie collection. You walked towards it, your eyes scanning all the titles until one caught your eye: Titanic. You turned towards Gil, grinning and showing him the cover. He HATED romance movies. He glared at you as you laughed. You went and put the movie in, running back to the couch and grabbing a fuzzy blanket.

~Timeskip~

Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as the elder couple curled up beside each other, realizing their fate. No matter how many times you watched this movie, you always cried a little bit. You looked at Gilbert, wanting to see his reaction to Titanic, a movie he had never seen before. What you saw shocked you. His scarlet eyes were wide and full of tears. There were tears running down his cheeks and his hand was covering his mouth. "A-are you okay Gil?" you asked, still in shock. You had never seen him like this. He looked at you, quickly wiping his eyes. "O-of course, frau. I mean, their actors, right?" he said, trying to sound as nonchalant as he usually was. You smiled sadly and hugged him. "You know, even awesome people are allowed to cry in movies. It's not a big deal, especially when they're with friends" you whispered, running your fingers through his hair. He looked up at you, now really crying. "Vhy is this movie so sad?!" he cried. You smiled and looked back at the movie. It was at the part where Jack dies and Rose has to let him go.

"I'll never let go Jack" Rose whispered, holding onto her doomed love's hand. Gil sniffed beside you as Jack slowly faded away and Rose got rescued. By the end of the movie, both of you were wiping away tears. "V-vell, that vas lame, frau" said Gilbert, trying to act like he didn't just spend the last half hour crying. You smiled up at him. "You know you liked it, Gil" you said, giggling. As you put the dishes in the sink, you saw Gilbert stood there, as if in deep thought. "What's up?" you asked, turning around. "_____. If ve vere on the ship and I vas dying, vhat vould you do?" he asked, sounding serious. You blinked a few times, confused and taken aback by his question. "Well.. I would do anything and everything in my power to help you. And if you were dying, I'd probably choose to die to" you said, blushing slightly as his eyes widened. "V-vhy?!" he cried, sounding horrified. "Because, what would I do if you were gone, Gil? Just go about living, as if I never knew you? Nope. I would want to die too because life would have no meaning anymore without you" you blurted, not meeting his eye.

You heard Gilbert's footsteps and expected him to be leaving. Tears filled your eyes. Had you just lost your best friend, forever? You looked up, about to call him back when you saw his face was inches from yours. Before you could apologize or say anything to him, Gilbert's lips met yours furiously. After a few seconds of shock, you leaned into the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. He pulled his lips away from yours and smiled down at you softly. "Danke frau, for letting me know that I can be vith you forever and never let you go".
Woot woot! Another request done, this one for ~AskMontreal. I decided that we needed to show Gilbert's inner emotional side in this one! Hope you enjoyed reading it!
